A Word in Due Season

Santa Ana Winds!

Hey guys!  I have received so many inquiries regarding the Santa Ana Winds prophesy sent to out this past July, these past three days that I finally went to look up what the original word was.  All I could remember was that I was told that these Santa Ana Winds were coming.  When I went to check in my email archives here is what I found:

Santa Ana Winds

July 10, 2007

Wanted to send you this heads up and ask you to begin to really press in and pray about what God told me last night.

Here it is:

Last night, July 9 and early the 10th the Holy Spirit woke me up no less than five times and maybe more.  I was resisting and kept trying to stay asleep.  But each time I heard an audible voice say, “Santa Ana Winds!”  The third time I woke myself all the way up and repeated the words.  I was wondering what in the world Santa Ana Winds were but at least I got it into my memory so that I could check it out in the morning.  At about 4:00 He woke me again and said “Santa Ana Winds are coming.  A time is passing.”  I asked what this meant and I heard nothing in response but I did feel a sort of foreboding, uneasiness and yet hope as well.  Back to sleep only to be woke up again around 6:00.  Same thing this time only with a serious sense of urgency.  “The Santa Ana Winds are coming.  A time is passing”  For some reason this time it got into my head that these winds would be a sign of the “time” He was speaking of is passing.  At 7:00I heard an audible voice that was very deep and sounded like a large man say, “Joie!”  I was wide awake and it sounded like it was coming from the bathroom or office.  So I got up to see if Eric was alright.  I heard the voice call out twice.  Eric was sleeping.  The voice seemed so urgent that I actually woke Eric up to make sure that he was ok.  Then I went down stairs to see if someone had come in and was calling me.  But no one was there.  I went back to bed and explained it all to Douglas.  He suggested that I Google it and said that he knew of these winds in California.  So I did just that and found this sentence on the Wikipedia page:

Under the category of etymology (study of the origin of a word):

“There are also claims that the original form is Santana winds, from the Spanish vientos de Sanatanas (“winds of Satan“, Sanatanas being a rarer form of Satanás), and that this in turn is a translation of a native name in some unspecified language.”

So, I believe that the Lord is encouraging us that a “time is passing”.  Most of us are fully aware that Body of Christ has been in a season of darkness here in the Valley since November of 2002.  On that November I was told that the church in the Valley needed to be sanctified for five years, which brings us to November 2007.  And now the Santa Ana Winds are blowing on California causing horrendous fires and a lot of attention.  Be encouraged!  This time is finally passing.  An outpouring of the Spirit of God is on the horizon.  May we all be ready with clean hands and a pure heart and a passionate desire to please Jesus, who is our Head!~AMEN!  Eph. 1!!!

  2. This is regarding the naming of the Santa Ana Winds…..
It is from this website, to my opinion much more reliable then Wikipedia any day.

NOTE: I get a lot of email from people insisting that the Santa Ana winds are actually the Santana winds, with “Santana” supposedly representing “devil” in Spanish or an Indian language. However, the Spanish word for “devil” is diablo, and Satan is Satanas, conspicuously missing the extra “n” in “Santana”. According to this site, a search of Indian languages has failed to support the “Santana” assertion. My research has suggested that the Santa Ana Canyon theory for the wind’s name is the most widely accepted explanation.
Under any name, however, the Santa Anas are a wind made warmer and drier by compression owing to downslope motion. In other localities, similar winds are called “Foehn” and “Chinook”, among other names.

There is a lot more information about the Santa Ana Winds at this site, if you are interested.

Beyond that, I think there is a pattern in the Bible of God doing spectacular things… a lot of times bad…. to get peoples attention … before people get the picture and turn and become obedient to Him. It just my observation and maybe I’m completely off base and wrong. Either way, press in, Stand firm, and keep your eyes on Jesus in the storm.

  3. Joie, thank you for putting this prophecy up I was going to call you to ask you to post this so thanks. I had talked to one of the ladies that work for my company out in San Diego today who was displaced with 2 young children so we need to remember those affected by the destruction. I also am excited about what is coming 🙂

  4. Yes! As our attention is pulled in the Santa Ana direction, please do remember to pray for those folks affected by this disaster. How terrible. I am going to check with a friend from the Santa Ana area to see if she knows of any small churches out there who have lost their church building that we can pull together to help. I’ll keep you all posted.

  5. Yes, it is exciting to hear what is going on, but it is at the expense of so many families! We must pray for their peace and comfort!

By the way, it is coming! The devil is ramping up his attack against us, and we must have clean hands and a pure heart! We must be seeking Him to make sure we are on course in this critical time.

  6. i got Joie’s e mail prophecy about the Santa Ana winds a few months ago. i had grown up in Santa Ana for 10 years and had just moved back to Santa Ana one month before the prophecy was sent out. I kept it in my heart until this wind storm hit us. Santa Ana winds are not uncommon here in Southern California, but this one seemed 10 times as strong as we are accustomed to. when i started to hear about the fires too i knew it pertained to the prophecy. this came at a time when my church had been called by the Lord to a month of nonstop prayer. it was then extended for an extra month. i believe that in california the Lord is getting our attention and a wave of people are going to be drawn to the Lord though this. We ask you Lord to prepare the workers in the harvest daily and not get side tracked in any way, shape, or form. Thank you Lord for answering and clarifying your revelations to us!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. “Is not Israel still my son, my darling child?” says the Lord. “I often have to punish him, but I still love him. That’s why I long for him and surely wil have mercy on him. Set up road signs; put up guideposts. Mark well the path by which you came. Come back again, my virgin Israel; return to your towns here. How long will you wander, my wayward daughter? For the Lord will cause something new to happen – Israel will embrace her God” Jeremiah 31:20-22

  10. Santa Ana was totally destroyed, guys, did you hear?

Ya, the wind swept in and every timber bigger than your forearm was shattered to toothpicks.

Everybody died, but nobody really cared, because Santa Ana is populated almost entirely by minorities.

Seriously,. I hate every one of you for being gullible

  11. Funny how the Holy Spirit would have called them Santa Ana winds if the proper name was Santana.
